A few words about 2017  Sponsors to date:

Silver Brush, Official Brush Sponsor of the 2017 Bermuda Plein Air Festival

Official Brush Sponsor of the Bermuda Plein Air Festival

The Silver Brush Limited® brand of brushes has become an institution to fine and decorative artists throughout the US and Canada, as well as a trusted resource for professional salons. Countless artists have written endorsement and “fan” letters to us extolling the quality and durability of our brushes. Legions of artists have been won over by our quality and selection.

Michael Harding:

“My paints are made by hand, using techniques which date back to the days of the Old Masters. There is a very simple reason for this painstaking process. As an artist and painter I wanted to create colours that were true and vibrant, and paint which was beautiful and durable.

The greater the pigment content of a paint the greater the resistance it has to fading. Nearly all manufacturers use various fillers to extend the volume of the oil paint. It may increase profits but it compromises on quality. I totally refuse to do this. Why make something exceptional and then dilute it?

I will not claim that my paints will turn you into a great painter, but I can promise they will have a profound effect on your work. Your colours will be stronger and richer, and you will find the texture of the paint incomparable. You will love working with them.”

Old Holland:

Oil paint occupies a special position at Old Holland. It is the first product that they manufactured. Paintings made in the 17th century according to the traditional recipes have retained the clarity of their colours. The permanence of the paint and of the base to which the paint is applied have engaged the attention of serious artist down the centuries, and in our own time it is still very important to strive for absolute durability.

Old Holland , New Masters:

In 1998, the chemists at Old Holland started research in the area of classic acrylic paint colours and mediums. It was a long-held dream of the late owner of Old Holland, Professor Theo de Beer, to develop an acrylic paint good enough to carry the ‘Old Holland’ name. He called the project ‘New Masters’ because, as with the Old Holland oils which were used by the old masters, the Old Holland acrylic paint would be used by the new masters of art.

Art Spectrum:

Art Spectrum is dedicated to creating the finest possible artists’ colours, manufacturing oils, watercolours, gouache, pastels and inks and associated mediums and primers.

Armadillo Art & Craft:

Armadillo Art & Craft is an importer and wholesale distributor specializing in premium quality art supplies from around the world. Our exclusive product lines include Old Holland, Michael Harding, PanPastel, Art Spectrum, and many more. Along with our vendors we are delighted to participate in the Plein Air Bermuda 2017 and look forward to meeting the participants this coming November. Stephen Lynton – Owner & President.

PanPastel Colors are professional artists’ quality soft pastel colors packed in a unique pan format (cake-like). The special qualities of PanPastel Colors mean that artists can blend and apply dry color like fluid paint for the first time.

All PanPastel Colors are made using a unique manufacturing process requiring minimal binder and fillers, resulting in rich, ultra soft and super-blendable colors. (Pans contain 0.30floz (9ml) of color; 40% more material than the average pastel stick, yielding at least 4-5 times more coverage than sticks.)

Each color is loaded with the finest quality artists’ pigments for the most concentrated colors possible. The colors have excellent lightfastness and are fully erasable. Uniquely, for pastel color, they can be mixed together for a complete painting palette.
