Saturday, 11 November:
Arrivals/Welcome Party at Coco Reef Hotel

  • 4 pm: Registration desk will open
  • 4 to 7 pm: Stamping of canvases/paper (stamping will also be available on site for each paint session, first hour of painting only)
  • Collection of any pre-ordered art supplies and frames, welcome bags and name badges.
  • Purchase of any additional dinner, lunch or tea tickets (Tickets for dinners/lunch/tea will not be sold after tonight.)
  • 6 to 7:30 pm: Welcome Cocktail Party, Coco Reef Hotel
  • Need ideas for dinner? Consider dining right at Coco Reef Resort.

Sunday, 12 November:
South Shore, Coral Beach & Tennis Club

  • 10.30 am: Coco Reef pick up for prearranged transport
  • 11 am to Noon: Stamping of canvases and paper
  • 11 am to 4 pm: Paint out all day
  • Box Lunch provided for those who pre-paid.
  • A free night for painters

 


Monday, 13 November:
Private Home: Orange Grove, Smith Parish

A family home for  many generations, current owners, William and Dawn Zuill are opening Orange Grove to the Plein Air Festival. Orange Grove features Bermuda classic architecture and rolling grounds, cottages and farming land. Bill is current president of the Bermuda national Trust.

  • 9.30 am: Coco Reef pick up for prearranged transport
  • 10 to 11 am: Stamping
  • 10 am to 4 pm: Paint out all day
  • Box Lunch provided for those who pre-paid.
  • Evening option: Dinner at the Masterworks (Ticketed/pre-paid event).
  • Enjoy a cocktails and buffet dinner in the rose garden at Masterworks,
  • The Masterworks gallery will be open for your view of the Bermuda Collection and current exhibition.

Tuesday, 14 November:
Urban Painting

  • 9 am: Coco Reef pick up for prearranged transport
  • 9.30 to 10.30 am: Stamping at drop-off point (Bermuda Library, Queen Elizabeth Park (Formerly Par la Ville Park)
  • 9.30 am to 4 pm: Paint out all day: Enjoy painting in the City of Hamilton, your choice of location.
  • Lunch on your own.
  • Bermuda National Gallery and the Bermuda Society of the Arts (BSoA) will be open for your enjoyment in the City Hall.
  • 4.30 to 6 pm (Optional): Gallery 117, 117 Front Street, for cocktails
  • 5 to 7 pm: DNA Art shop will be open for any art supply refreshers
  • 6 pm: Night painting session in Hamilton: Location of your choice on Front Street
  • 9 pm: Transport back to the hotel from the Flagpole on Front Street. (Miss the the 9 pm pickup? Hail a taxi from Front Street.)

Wednesday, 15 November:
Dockyard & Commissioner’s House

  • 9.30 am: Coco Reef pickup for prearranged transport
  • 10 to 11 am: Stamping at Dockyard Arts Centre.
  • 10 am to 4 pm: Paint out all day anywhere in the Dockyard area, your choice of the Clock Tower, marina, Commissioner’s House and ramparts
  • Lunch on your own at one of the many venues in Dockyard.
  • 4 to 5 pm: Tea served at Dockyard Arts Centre. (Ticketed/pre-paid event)
  • 5.15 pm: Pick up from Dockyard Arts Centre for prearranged transport back to Coco Reef; Ferry or buses back to Hamilton for those who wish to return to Hamilton.
  • Free evening to enjoy and/or finish work

Thursday, 16 November:
Quick Art Competition in St. George’s

  • 8.30 am: Coco Reef Pick Up for prearranged transport.
  • 9.30 to 10.30 am: Stamping at drop-off point, Town Hall
  • You are free to paint anywhere in the St George’s area.
  • 1 pm Deadline for Quick Art competition drop-off at Town Hall. All work must be framed, ready to hang and left for collection. Completed Quick Art entry and label form MUST on the back of the painting. Only one piece can be submitted.
  • Lunch on your own after the quick art, with time to enjoy the shops.
  • 2.30 pm: Pick up for prearranged transport back to Coco Reef from the town square.
  • Free evening to enjoy on your own.
  • Of note:

    Points of interest in St George’s:

     If you are visiting St George’s, which has several National Trust properties, we are sure you will will love Stewart Hall and Samaritan’s Cottages, which are both a little bit off the beaten track.

    The Old Rectory is also a classic cottage on Broad Alley(https://www.bnt.bm/map-of-trust-properties/22-featured-properties/147-the-old-rectory), as is Fanny Fox’s cottage on Duke Of Clarence Street (https://www.bermuda-attractions.com/bermuda_000378.htm)

Friday, 17 November:
FREE DAY and Dinner at Woodhaven, home of Vivienne Gardner

Enjoy a free day and evening to finish and frame your work for the festival exhibition, or find new locations on your own.

  • 5 pm: Coco Reef pickup for prearranged transport
  • 5.30 to 9.30 pm: Cocktails and dinner gathering: After a fun filled week, enjoy a relaxed buffet dinner with all your new friends, fellow artists, and sponsors at Woodhaven, home of Vivienne Gardner, one of our own Bermuda Plein Air Artists. (Ticketed/pre-paid event)
  • 10 pm: Pick up for prearranged transport back to Coco Reef Hotel.


Saturday, 18 November:
Plein Air Art Festival Finale, Bermuda Society of Arts, City Hall

  • 8 to 9.30 am: Artist work collected from Coco Reef Hotel
  • 9 to 10 am: All other artists to take their entries to the BSOA no later than 10 am for hanging in the Festival Exhibition. All entries must have two entry forms attached, clearly indicating in which category they are to be entered,
  • All work must be collected and submitted by 10 am
  • Noon to 3 pm: Judging (Gallery closed)
  • 4 to 7.30 pm: Exhibition open to Public Opening
  • 6 pm: All prizes awarded
  • 7.30 to 8.30 pm: Collection of all artwork not sold
  • 9 pm: Pick up for prearranged transport back to Coco Reef Hotel OR enjoy dinner on your own in the City of Hamilton (making your own way home post-dinner).
